I like the colours in this one! Although I'd probably have gone with green nails as well, just to match the rest of the colour scheme (even if we do have a bit of blue sky in the corner up there :P)

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Nice images folks. Valence, the wife wanting me to let you know she really likes the Baby image. (As do I!) Nice...

Love the way you’ve handled her hair! Great colours too.

Sktchys daily challenge was to add colour to a black and white photograph. Of course I did it digitally and was pretty happy with the result, except those eyelashes, I hate eyelashes!

Spent the last few days trying to do something a little brighter as a lot of my recent stuff has been pretty dark and moody. The firsts unfinished but I’m ok with that.
I posted the second to social media before I noticed the issue with the harsh tonal change across the chin. Old habits die hard I guess.

I wouldn't even have noticed the chin thing if you hadn't mentioned it.
I like how you've controlled the colours in that one. It's tricky when the lighting transforms skin tones into unfamiliar hues like that, it takes a lot of keen observation to pull it off and you have here.

My dodgy finger eventually healed enough to allow me to paint something in the evening...

Thats such a peaceful image - and I love the upside own cat!

Edit: I really should mention that hand too - thats a great hand!

Finally got my final completed for Portraits for NHS Heroes done. That's the last I'm doing of these, I wasnt to get back to fantasy/sci fi/horror stuff (though I'll probably just keep doing studies of portraits)

The ref. was so bad on this one, but it was my choice so I can't really moan.

That back light was an absolute nightmare and the young lad was positioned so far away from centre that he was horribly out of focus. Still, lesson learned.

I think you've done an amazing job with that. You've managed to capture all the little interactions that happen in a family as well as describing their individual personalities.

Thanks Val that’s very kind. The nurse who requested it seemed really happy so even though I think some parts are weak I guess that’s all that matters.

I've started a new movie study.

When it was released I stayed away from painting anything to do with this movie because every second image on social networks was of some kind of Joker tribute. Even now, for this second one at least, I wanted to do a less popular scene from the movie.

I truly loved Joker, the cinematography, the colours and the 70's kinda vibe. So expect a few more of these.

About 3 hours in and I still havent quite got the likeness down but thats ok, I'll get there.

Im going to try and keep this overly painterly in an attempt to mirror the gritiness of the film.
