Nice use of green. It plays very nicely against the reds around the eye.

Been a rough few days and haven't been able to do anything much (not art, nor games, nor nuffink) but I did manage something today...

Something not quite right about the nose but my diminishing patience was no longer bothered by it.

aw well, you can borrow some of my game time - I've been gaming far too much anyway :P

and I can't see anything wrong with the nose - maybe just try to use less white light (as it is now lit all over)

Yep, now you mention it, I think that is exactly the thing that was bugging me. :aha:

Val, love the way he just floats above the page.

Last nights Sktchy thing, just for the rim light on his mouth and the highlights in his eyes.

Excellent edges, Atto. Adds an extra graphic element to the equally satisfying realism.

One almost-true factoid that every child learns is that the word Dinosaur "means" Terrible Lizard. :confident:

So in a different sense of that phrase I guess this could be a dinosaur.

I like the eye but got fed up of failing to do the skin texture and then a nasty headache encouraged me to quit long before the back of the head was finished.

Nasty headaches are nasty....
But I thought dino meant terrifying not terrible? :dumb:

That's why it's an "almost-true factoid."
The translation is a bit ambiguous in English but every children's book repeats the "Terrible" part so it seems to stick in the mind.

And seeing as we've digressed for a moment I'll point out that I've actually been looking at quite a bit of Paleoart recently, partly because Ark I admit. :)
And amidst my searches I've been enjoying looking through the works of Mark Witton who has lots of those social media things and a blog of more academic articles.

I do wish I could paint scenes like that but as I mentioned elsewhere, those back legs kill me with frustration! :shakefist:

I'll have to look up Mark Witton.
I wish I could ... well, would... paint more paleoart too. Seeing as I've still only done that one piece with the sabretooth and the equus...
