I immediately thought “ahhh 2001”!

Yeah, it was my first thought when I saw the ref. Bit of another rush job, especially now that football's back on TV to steal my time, but they seemed to like it. :)

Looks great! :woohoo:
although... is he making a face or is his beard (the lower lip stuff) only growing on half his face? That part looks a bit odd...

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Double checking with the ref I think I haven't been subtle enough with the lighter hairs and shadows. My brushstrokes with traditional paints are always a bit too harsh and those kind of transitions are a constant struggle for me.
And I think my colour mixes went a bit too reddish which doesn't help that area. :)

Actually comparing with the ref I think it's one of those cases you might have been better off "improving" on the model - because the ref also looks like he has more beard on one side of the mouth than the other... :)

Wow. You can paint in acrylics too!?!

90 minute Sktchy inspired thing. That still seems like a long time to me for the end result.

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

It's debatable.

Great work in such a short space of time with your pic.
Excellent expression to the eyes too, it looks very thoughtful with a distinct personality behind the face.

Unfinished, even by my own unfinished standards. :eyeroll:

But a scribble is a scribble. :aha:
