Had a bit of a go at Modesty Blaise (whoever she is :side: )

Tried to do a mixture of the actress and some of the line art I've seen and it doesn't quite work, but it's another name crossed off the list! :)

I think you did her face and hair well, but you could work some more on her body - her boobs are a bit high (maybe because the body is smaller, though) but especially her shoulders look very angular...

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Yes, I had to squash the body to fit the very high hairstyle in. :)

And she does strike some very angular poses in that film. Must be a 60's thing. :confident: But it was tough trying to balance the sharp angles with the curves of the body.
I'd also like to keep working the nose too, but I've already started looking for refs for Agent May instead. :P

Almost Agent May.

Almost. :)
She has a tricky nose.

There was a nice post on MuddyColors the other day about getting a better likeness.

I think I need some of those tips myself. :P

Thats a very useful link, especially for the likes of me who really struggles with likeness - thanks Val.
Can we get it included in the reference topic please Banj?

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

I think the general MuddyColors site is already in the resources list but it's quite useful to flag up and bookmark interesting posts as it's a tough place to search for stuff.

I usually check it out every day and make a note of anything that catches my interest, and that one reminded me of this thread. Also Ron Lemen's articles are always worth reading and telling someone about. :)

Oh no! Charlotte's got the poking stick! ... Again! :argh:

Hmm, "something worse", you say?
Nothing was possibly worse than my attempt at Aladdin. Not only did I not post it, I didn't even save it. I deny its existence. It never happened. :nope:

Caricaturing cartoons is tough for some reason.
