I haven't been here in ages, initially down to an inability to log in, and then I just kind of drifted away; but I thought I'd make the effort to post again, and start a new thread for random sketches.

A lot of these will be loose interpretations of reference and I'l try and remember to post the ref too.

There are a lot of tutorial on drawing and painting eyes about, and I think they pretty much all miss the point - it's not about the rendering of the eye itself, it's about the expression lines around it.

These are wonderful. Your comments about the eye tutorials I agree with. They cover the mechanics of painting the eye ball and lids, eye lashes etc but not what gives the eye expression, the shape that the lids take when other muscle of the face are in play. Ever thought of putting a tut out...maybe on this site?
