After all the masks and lasso tools I'm using on the challenge this month I wanted to try something a little looser - I'm guessing it'll help with the acrylic landscape I'm working on too.

Looks good.
There are some lovely expressive marks laId down there and the pose and lighting combine to create an interesting feeling of drama.
Keep working it.

Thanks Val,
I could keep working on this - smoothing and blending till it becomes one whole smeary err....hole but I want to keep some of those expressive marks as you so kindly refer to them.
Calling it done - now on to the next-

Sure I should be finishing my Kingdom entry but you know what? I'm enjoying this actual painting malarky a lot more than marquee and fill tools.
My new one - WIP - working title of Forest Boat.

Interesting concept - looks a bit like a development of your previous forest bridges one :)

I'm lookoing forward to seeing it further along - and I expect that clean shiny uh... floor... to be covered in things like rust, moss and pine needles or leaves debris.

Unless of course someone still lives on it :pirate:

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

There'll be no pirates I'm afraid Charlotte but there will be lots of lovely(?) texture, holes, broken boards, rust and debris. Right now I'm just trying to get the lighting right on the deck - not sure I'm there yet, I need to soften the edges of those shadows so it looks less shiny and figure out exactly where the sun dapples on the deck as it breaks through the trees overhead.

I like all the wood textures that you're doing in this pic.
Great lighting too!

Thank you Val. I think I'm nearly there....I'm going to live with it a few days before I post it on my FB art page but for all you lovely special people, you get to see it while I go "ARGGGHHHHH! How did I forget to do that" and "What the hell did you think you were doing there that looks $£%p!!"
Enjoy because I know I won't.
