Get some of these inked up and on the screen Gix. They are great!

A crisp, graphic look will be ideal for them. They would look like the sort of graphics you get on skateboards and T-shirts. Great stuff!

Everything's on the right!!!

It's like driving abroad!

Pretty cute Gix. I just noticed they are both actually on the same sheet. Seeing the eye angle of the little guy, he looks like he's excited about ol' cyclops's balloon!

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

Took a break from yard work to sketch this guy.

I'm thinking that I need to clean up my computer area and sit down to do some computer work again.

He could be a decent 3d character.

Kinda reminds me of the character 'Torch' for the Puppet Master Series, made by full moon. :)

Gix I agree with Dom. You should invest in some Inking supplies. But if you do make sure you ink the drawings, on bristol board. 3ply or 2ply. Or a real heavy sketch paper. Otherwise you'll see bleeding from the nibs cutting into the paper.
Funny you said you had a story in your head for your King of Monsters fella. I was thinking he'd be great for a comic strip. Hint hint.

Hey Bergy,
I grabbed some of my pens and markers since it's been suggested.

I used a couple of microns and a brush pen for this guy.

I'm happy with how it turned out.

That's a fantastic start. But if you want to really make it pop I recommend using traditional inking supplies. Indian ink, quill, cowl and hunt nibs. Brush as well. A size 2 is a good start. You'll get better line weight this way. I use pens mainly for the perspective and mechanical stuff. Check out at your art store if they have Faber Castle artist pens. They're fantastic and Indian ink based pens.

Thanks Bergy.

Right now I'm on an art supply buying moratorium. I'm trying to save money for various house projects. But our discussions are encouraging me to push my images further than what I normally do.

Ink is so permanent, so I shy away from it after I have been working on a sketch.
