I now have....a base floor! Apparently I can't build walls.
I've also figured out where to get diamonds from.

I have not figured out if the in game screenshots can be accessed from outside the game.... does one need to use prtScr for that?

Base floors are only for placing things like power supplies, you don't need them to build a base (normally you wont need one at all).

Screenshots taken in game with the PDA are only in game screenshots as far as I can recall. The screenshots I posted were taken using Steams screenshot option (I don't know if the launcher you are using has a similar facility).

I don't think it does. And it turns out I was talking about the "foundation", not a floor. I haven't really gotten any further than that, though. I can build compartments (as the blueprints are there to begin with) but not any other rooms yet. And now I'm watching an episode of Sherlock Holmes that apparently predates the last one I saw. I can never quite decide if I want to watch that show, something about the mean pranks Sherlock plays on Watson all the time.

Yep, the foundation is what I was talking about. It normally isn't required for building a base, you just construct rooms and corridors together.

*sigh* well it can be deconstructed from what I understand... it looks kinda nifty though.

now my "floating air pump" keeps sinking...

well, apparently I didn't need the pump at all. I needed a solar panel *makes perfect sense*

My PDA or whateverkeepstalkingtome thinks it imprudent to build glass structures for no particular reason but I think I have a nice little study now

Oh right, I meant to ask... I've found a couple of "broken" items. I figured I could repair them, but it seems not. So what do I do with them? It's a couple of analyzer thingies. (Lab equipment I presume)
