Look, Geralt's died far too many times during this session (damn ghouls!) and I really don't need a Griffin too. I know I killed one earlier but that was with Vesemir's help and it was really just a Big Boss tutorial. It's a bit tougher now and I just want to get to Novigrad without a fight.
Must go faster, Roach!




It's getting closer!



Do the double-shift gallopy thing!

That's exactly what happened albeit unintentionally.
When you do the double-shift gallopy thing Roach is supposed to stick to the path automatically but Roach never does.

So a bit of cross country action ensued beneath the trees and over a small ledge until we found another path. A path that then led us... back towards the griffin.

But it didn't spot me this time so I managed to ride on to Novigrad.

Tried and died.
And died.
And died.

I haven't played LA Noire for a while and you know what that means?
It's forgotten who I am again.

And now that I'm playing the game I can still spend time counting the traffic lights...

Damn thing had me picking out grainy cars before I could solve the Silk Stocking Murder.
But solve it I did.
And then onto Skyrim!

After completing a few local quests in Riften and surviving my first chat with Maven (despite the naughty horsey thing) I'm off on my travels again.



Once you're part of the Thieves' Guild a lot of the jobs you pick up there require you to go roaming all over the country, including the faaar north of Windhelm and even Dawnstar! But I'm a long way from those yet and I'm not ready to meet Ulfric and get involved in the war.
But I do have to go back home to Whiterun and then over to Falkreath to finish off a few old things so travelling must now be done and before reaching those there was a little stop-over at Darkwater Crossing to deal with...



I do like that epic waterfall. Some chap there was telling me of someone going missing around there so I may eventually have to climb up there to find him. But not yet. All in good time.
Onward home, new horsey!

And speaking of that horse. It is a bit more ...erm... "lively" than my other ones. I'm used to cowardly horses that run away from trouble but this one does like to get involved in the fights.
I got attacked by an Argonian while coming down the mountain and as I hopped off to get him at the edge of the cliff, the horse charged past me and jumped at him!

Don't jump off and kill yourself, stoopid horse.

Travelling continues...

Still a looong way from home and I also remembered that I have to call in on Ivarstead too for ...something. But I'm a long way from there as well and before I can even get anywhere I hear this guy crying for help...



Help out a poor guy whose been attacked?
I'm a sucker for a sob story so here goes...

Damn it! It's a [SWEAR WORD] trap!
I was a teeny bit suspicious of his story but like a fool I still walked into it and he's led me up a path to a big fight with several thugs, including some orcs and, even worse, they're all levelled so it's really hard!
And suddenly I'm quite grateful for that angry, interfering horse.
Yes, you get him, horsey. Kill that nasty liar!



And it was still a tough fight. Many a death took place in that hour of reloads and in the end I needed my good self, Arissa, Angry Horsey, a conjured flame Atronach and two (TWO!!) Dremoras from my magic Sanguine Rose. Whatever the hell that all means.
And for the uninitiated, it meant that I had a little army with me.
But they're all finally dead. Spam that F5 for a quicksave and I can go on my peaceful travels again.
