The answer to that would be yes/maybe

. In the theatrical release he shoots before Greedo is ready to shoot him. In the Special Edition he shoots after Greedo shot at him and missed. Many complain that the Special Edition version of Han shooting second makes him less of the callous mercenary that he was originally, however it  could be argued that casually murdering someone that can't even hit a stationary target a few inches away and is therefore not a threat to anyone and possibly has some kind of disability actually makes him more of a monster.

Yeah, I thought it was stupid too that they changed that scene. Han Solo did shoot first originally, but that wasn't the problem... the perspective of others' did. Always having to worry about what some might think. Idiots...
I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D
