Just as I was contemplating how bad the Hobbit trilogy was, you remind me how much worse it could have been.

*is considering watching Blade Runner (the new one) tonight*

EDIT: *is now considering not going since I just got home from work and I'd have to leave again in just over 30 minutes and that feels a bit stressful and I'm tired. So there*

Watching Terminator Genisys now. I'd completely forgotten that it existed (and that I hadn't seen it).

One thing maybe someone can explain to me - they explain that the hunks sent back in time need to be naked because only organic material will get through... But they use it to send robots? Is that fluid metal organic??? All their chips and circuits and stuff? Or is it just one of those things I should forget to ask?

EDIT, and spoiler
Warning: Spoiler!

EDIT 2 - and really Banj, grey text on yellow? It's almost unreadable... Isn't the spoiler warning enough? :P

Wasn't there supposed to be a "fleshy cocoon" on the liquid metal one that they ended up cutting from the film? :dunno:

It becomes increasingly harder to follow the timeline with each sequel but I did like the idea in the second one that the leftover Terminator from the original inspired the guy at Skynet thereby creating one of those closed timeloops that seem paradoxical but are still consistent.

Edit: I knew I'd heard the cocoon thing before but took me a while to find it...

I skimmed through most of that page. Not sure I feel any wiser :P I mean, the coccon would have been for the T-1000, so what about the T-800? And if the T-800 is still there after the future is altered, because you can't change an effect once it's already happened, how can you ever go back in time to change ANYTHING? It's all already happened. Not to mention that the whole idea of trying to kill off someone's parent before they're born would be an obviously futile idea if things can't be changed anyhow... Oh well, I'll just enjoy the action and forget about the rest :P

The T-800 didn't need a cocoon because it's already inside an Arnold-shaped creature. But then again he was probably more steroids than natural flesh so maybe you have a point. :)
