If Netflix has taught me one thing it's that there are millions of comic book characters that I've never heard of.

And Netflix will ensure you only hear of them for a maximum of two seasons.

Ew. There's a musical episode of Fringe where the characters start singing.
I'd forgotten about that one and I shall now try to forget about it again.

There seems to be one of those in almost every series...

And a body swap story... and an alternate universe story... and an "It's a Wonderful Life" style story... and a doppelganger story... and...

EDIT _ Oh, and I forgot the memory loss story (ironic), where everyone forgets who they are due to some technical or magical thingamybob going wrong.

And don't forget the Groundhog Day-style time loop episode. In Fringe that was just before the musical story one. :)

 I was gonna do that if you didn't. :P

And now that I'm thinking about it I think most shows also have at least one Rashomon episode too.

The ones that stick most in my mind are the TNG episode "A Matter Of Perspective" where Riker is accused of killing a scientist and all the witnesses' different stories are recreated on the holodeck, and that X-Files episode "Bad Blood" where Mulder and Scully tell very different stories to an inquiry into one of their cases. Then again the X-Files also has those crazy-but-brilliant Jose Chung stories that take the concept to another level entirely. :)
