I've just watched Mortal Engines.... Not the most plausible of stories.... Anyway, when I was done just now, Netflix told me there's a second season of The Umbrella Academy. :woohoo:

Is that the Cities On Wheels thing? :hmm:
If so then I liked a lot of the ideas but not the way they used them to make a rather formulaic story.

The Predator cities, yes. The likelihood of anyone building a multi decker machine under st Pauls and driving off, just seems very small...

My Saturday Night movie this week consisted of a very long sleep occasionally interrupted by short clips of Iron Man 3.
I should just go to bed earlier.

I've noticed that one of the consequences of the ongoing lockdown is that normal TV channels are having to raid their archives of older shows and tonight I see that one channel is showing Heroes from the beginning.
I know the later seasons were horrible but I vaguely recall being entertained by the first episodes so I may try and catch them again to see how they compare to my memory. :)

I think I missed a bunch of episodes at some point.... but I also think I enjoyed the early episodes... Itgot kind of convoluted towards the end, though, didn't it? Or am I getting things mixed up when I recall something about video game characters and such?

Heroes was one of those shows that fell apart very quickly. I remember the writers even making a public apology for the mess they made of season 2 and it didn't really get any better after that.
But I am still interested in seeing the fun and intrigue of that first season, as well as the silliness of that eclipse that happened everywhere in the world at the same time.

I'd forgotten how much I hated Peter Petrelli and the way he struts around New York with his manbag over his shoulder, displaying all the acting ability of a young Sylvester Stallone complete with the same crooked mouth expressions.

And I didn't recall Isaac's "future paintings" being so flat and rubbish.

But apart from that it was good fun to watch again. :)

If i remember correctly all his artwork was created by comic artist Tim Sale probably best known for Batman: The Long Halloween.

The style doesn't really seem to fit the character or his story. You'd expect the tortured, soulful artist to produce something dark and painterly but in the midst of his drug-addled, trance-like angst he somehow does really clean linework and shaded colour flats on a massive canvas.
I'd prefer his future visions to look more like Goya or something like that.
