I kind of have a similar problem except that I'm waiting for the boxset to be released. I might just avoid the internet for the next year or so and catch up with everything I haven't seen

I'd stop doing that if I were you and definitely steer clear of Reddit.
I was only waiting one day for the episodes (didn't want to watch the "live" one at 3am) and even in that short space of time I had a couple of things spoiled.

Problem is, too many folks need to speak about those shows sooner or later. Similarly to back in the day, I started hearing people saying how someone killed someone in Harry Potter, (see I'm still trying not to spoil it 
) ... But it's just inevitable if you watch any TV, listen to the Radio or surf the web. Sooner or later someone will spoil it for ya. But there's been some I was able to avoid and simply caught up on when I could watch the entire season, but it's a rarity anymore these days. (Actually it was all the hype how folks were so pissed at the final Season of GOT that had me worried I would hear stuff before getting to watch. But it seem most of those folks didn't like the season before that as well) But as you know, you can't please everyone!

I think the Terminator series is following the same continuity blueprint as things like X-Men or Halloween.
Like where the most recent film is called Halloween, but it's a direct sequel to Halloween which had a sequel called Halloween 2, which shouldn't be confused with the film Halloween 2 because that was a sequel to the film Halloween, which shouldn't be confused with Halloween or Halloween because Halloween was a remake of Halloween, but not of Halloween which is obviously a sequel. Not to mention all the other sequels that followed but were then ignored, unignored, then ignored again.
Maybe They have travelled forward or backward in time to a point before or after Sarah Connor was a different Sarah Conner and not the Sarah Conner that she was. Maybe Judgement Day never happened and they only got as far as Preliminary Hearing Day.
