LinkedIn, where I don't recall ever creating an account yet still received numerous emails telling me that people were trying to add me as a friend (or whatever it is on there). So I tried to log in and the site told me they didn't know who I was.

lol, that's because people can automatically send invites to people in their address books. You're invited to create an account, basically

At least now I have an account I don't get those invites anymore. But instead I get numerous emails saying I have new notifications (and going to the site, I find nothing new) or that X number of people have checked my profile recently - and it usually turns out to be the same people who visited last week, and the week before that etc... I mean, do they have to tell me twice a week that someone looked at my profile last month?

But supposedly it's a good venue for finding new jobs... I haven't tried very hard yet.
