Totally Random

In other news my computer can't find my monitor today. The external one that is, I do see the laptop one. Bui it's small and placed to the side... I've tried a bunch of things and then succumbed to asking my brother for advice. But any tips willbe greatly appreciated. I've tried restarting (and shutting off power completely). I've googled and I've checked driver updates. The computer is still set to display on both monitors but...

oh well... I'll survive, for now.

Have you checked the cables are plugged in and not come loose? That little grey wizard may have knocked them.

I knew I forgot to mention something, but yeah I checked.

Check the monitor set to the correct input (so if it accepts different input types... HDMI, Display Port, DVI etc.). It may have been accidentally switched to the wrong one.

Were there any updates recently that may have changed settings? Have you installed anything that may have changed settings? Is the cat sat under the desk switching off the power and then switching it back on before you check the socket just to wind you up?

But I found a quick fix. Turn everything off. Do some other stuff. Take a nap. Turn everything back on. Voila!

well I did that before, but for seconds rather than hours...
