Well, if anyone else wants me to help them by telling them I can't help them, I'm more than happy to help.

I don't know much about modern Wacom stuff either. Mine's a Bamboo Fun that's well over a decade old. I don't think they make them any more so I don't know what I'd do if anything broke.
Thankfully I'm gentle with my nibs, I've only had to change once in all those years although my current one is getting scarily sharp!

Hope your pen gets delivered soon!

I feel like it takes a few seconds to wear down those couple of mm you have to use but on the other hand I tend to keep using them anyway, and I've actually started to wear down the tip of the pen too... (the part where the nib is attached, that is)

Well, now that our hosting provider has got their act together and brought the site back I'll re-write what I tried to post a few minutes ago...

Wacom changed to a rougher surface on their later tablets to wear the nibs down faster. I hardly ever changed the tips on my old Intuos 2.

We were gone?

and they did it specifically to wear them down or was that a side effect? :(

EDIT: and when did they change? (My tablet is also 6.5 years old... Like the pen that came with it, logically)

Even the one I changed didn't wear out THAT much! :)

Mine usually tend to get a little flat spot on one side and the edges of that begin to snag on the tablet when trying to draw, then eventually the flat spot wears further down to make a sharp point at the tip that can make smooth curves really difficult. (Not that my lines are smooth anyway!)

That's pretty much what my current nib is like but I'll keep going with it for now...
At least I know where my three remaining spares are. If I didn't I'd be in trouble cos I don't think that the newer nibs are compatible. :(

They changed it with the Intuos 3 if I recall correctly. Supposedly to give artists a more paper like feel, certainly not to make the tips wear out faster so they could sell more replacements, no sir, that would never happen.
