Yesterday i realised I had not only worn down the nib on my pen but started to wear down the actual pen... And when I replaced the nib I couldn't help but wonder if I'm missing something. Each nib is like an inch long but you can only use a couple of millimeters at the very end... Is there some kind of extension thingy I haven't found out about? :dumb:

I make sure my pressure is set to a super light touch to preserve the nibs but I still get those annoying flat spots now and again. Then I have to remember to keep rotating the pen to wear down the sharp edge.
I think your extending nib sounds like a good idea. It'd be like one of those mechanical, propelling pencils. :)
But then they wouldn't make as much money from replacements.

Obviously i’m not drawing anything at all but I don’t think i’ve ever worn a nib down? Actually I might have slightly done on one of my intuos one as I remember changing it.

It's like drugs kaz, you have to keep using it to stay addicted. :dumb:

I've never really got to that addicted stage so I understand that "inclination" too. ;)
Pretty much every picture I do ends with that "Why do I bother?" question. I think the secret is just not having anything else to do.

The 'why do I bother' is probably what stops me starting I think

oh but you bother because you enjoy it and it feels good (until your fingers hurt because you hold your pen too tightly). "It's the journey, not the destination" er... or was it the journey IS the destination? :hmm:
