After 24 hours+ of not eating or drinking the only thing that was good enough was apparently MY glass of water... (And in spite of my having cleaned up the place it seems like a total mess in this particular pic...)

Pretty much the closest and most relaxed he got yesterday. He later sat at my feet but if I tried to touch him he moved just out of reach :P

Today he's been hiding behind the bathtub all morning...
I read somewhere that anxiety is worst in the morning, I guess that goes for cats too...

You'll need to learn how to make cat noises to entice him closer. :)
In my previous experience as a "cat whisperer" I found that a short and quiet "myow" does the job. :confident:

lol I've tried! and I've tried food and play things too...
He'll come out when he's ready, I suppose...

It's pretty normal for a cat going into a new home. The best thing to do is just carry on as normal and he'll just settle in and gradually get used to the mad woman that's wandering around his home.

Honestly it must be so hard for kittens/puppies, everything in their lives change when we take them, it makes me very sad, apart from the fact that hopefully they are going to a lovely home & a lovely life.

He's very gorgeous (i'm not a cat lover but appreciate their beauty)

will you have him neutered? Does that make them more homely?

I know Banj, though I'd wish he'd get used to me faster. I mean, every evening he's out and keeps close, but next morning it's like he's never seen this place (or me) before... Maybe short term memory storage is slow with cats?

He is neutered and his official name (given by sis) is Stardust. I haven't decided on my own name yet, though Ziggy* is, of course, a contender.

*or Sigge to make it more Swedish, not that I'd mind a non-Swedish name. A friend's cat is already named Sigge and I'd prefer something "of my own", I guess. I'm also considering Siva which means grey in croatian or one of those other slavic languages. Other choices might be Miles, Morris or Fergus. Oh, and Kaiser. :p But I can't really get to know him until he comes out of hiding, so...

Apparently he's now hungry and thirsty... (He just came out from under the tub, at 4 pm.... Been there since at least 7 am)

Edit - and now he's right back under the tub (I think)

Banj is probably right, just keep things normal and he will join in as he gets used to you. I'm sure it won't take long, it just might seem a lot longer for us. But before long you be wishing he would go lay down and leave you alone! :D

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D
