What better way to celebrate an anniversary than to paint a picture of my "favourite" "sport"?

Just spent a few moments backing up my ArtRage paintings to an external drive and freeing up some space on my internal hard disk. :)
And now to work a bit more on this pic...
Which isn't there any more.
And I've emptied the recycle bin.
*plugs in external drive again*
And I didn't back up that particular file cos I knew I was still working on it.

*downloads low-res jpeg from previous post* :eyeroll:

EDIT: And now the paint doesn't blend correctly cos it's a .jpg and not a .ptg file. :pout:

Does copying and pasting it into a new layer help?

I did import it to a new layer but that alone doesn't do much. The best work around is to create a new layer underneath, completely cover that with paint then merge the two layers. Of course then I have much more paint on the canvas than before so I've also had to change the canvas texture to increase the roughness so that it doesn't smear around like butter on glass.
It's working better now. Not as good as the previous file but it will do. :)

EDIT: And none of that is helping me with that hand.

Quite a bit I'd say :)
But to be somewhat critical, I'm not convinced his sitting on that broomstick... :hmm:

Yes, now that you've made me look at that I think the bristly bits at the back need moving down a bit. :)
