I usually don't even bother with that grid thing.

It's intended for checking distortion and to help with scaling the UVs to approximately the same size.

Really impressive work all!
I've been suffering with a bad back recently so I've been unable to take mine much further but I did manage to get some done earlier today.

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

Nice progress, Segujo, the colour dodge is starting to make him pop, as Valance said before he is looking very 3d. Atto, I'm getting some Shadowrun RPG vibes looking at yours, he could be some Cyberpunk Orc gangster. I like the red strap thingy repeating the head marking.

I have started on some texturing, still early days and only 9 of them left

Oof! That sword is good. :aha:

Meanwhile...

Weight painting.
:nope:
:eyeroll:
:pout:

Do you have any other negative emojis cos they're all appropriate?

I guess I can't do this by merging the meshes cos then you end up with bits inside that you can't reach to paint.
The inside of my straps and buckles were flying all over the place when I merely moved his finger a bit.
I'm glad I started this early cos all today's work needs to be scrapped and redone. :(
I knew I wouldn't enjoy this bit.

 That poor pumpkin.

Meanwhile, I continue my battle against many many crashes and bugs which may prevent me getting me much further beyond the texturing phase right now.

Wow, those shots with the backgrounds look fantastic.

Is there some kind of special trick to doing that cos when I try to use one of those HDRI photos for background and lighting it looks absolutely terrible.
Gonna be a plain black environment from me, I think. :)

And that's a terrific sketch too, Kodabble.
Love the expression on the pumpkin!

Thanks, there's nothing special about t, it's the built in renderer in Substance Painter. It's basically just click render and sit back and wait a minute or two, you can switch the HDR and rotate it, and there are some options for things like DOF and light bloom etc, but that's about it. If I ever get to final render, it wont be the same renderer and will probably look different.
