September 2020 - Pandora's Box - WIPs

Put something down last night/this morning. Still not happy with the way ts going - I wanted something more Renaissance looking but I struggle so much with the idea adding a style to it too is just beyond me atm.
Personally I still think Charlotte would get my vote right now.

I tried a bit more with mine today by rehashing an old idea that previously went wrong and while working on it I really thought this was gonna be the one. Then right at the end before saving I zoomed out, leaned back smugly in my chair and...

It looked absolutely ridiculous with some truly embarrassing proportions.

I'm off work today so I've managed to spend most of the day on this one. Changed it up a little but I am going to be adding more hands back in there at some point and another skull. I got rid of the screaming 'spirit' guy as I thought it was too similar to the twisted form of Pandora on the floor and I'm trying to steer clear of any religious iconography that may suggest a specific religion.

To be honest I'm still not really sure if it works (compositionally and in terms of consistent lighting etc) but I'm just letting it take me where it wants.

Spent the last couple of days trying to finger paint over that first failure in yet another rehash/rescue attempt...







Still looks awkward but the hood hides a lot of problems.
