:)

Updated with a quick fingerpainted edit to add the option of a fishy fin. Not sure if that ruins the line of the neck. :hmm:

Those rear legs still look dodgy and I'm not sure how they'll improve.

I think maybe I'd try putting the fin further back. Like a rump fin rather than a neck fin :P And speaking of giraffe rear ends, maybe some references will help with the legs? They do tend to seem to go off in all directions at once, but... maybe you can find a REALLY good ref to help you sort them out... Right now they seem to have one too many joints (or just very, very long toes)

I really hate those types of rear legs. It doesn't matter if it's dogs, horses, dinosaurs or a mooseygiraffish. :P
They're almost as bad as hands and all the refs in the world don't seem to help me. Maybe I'll add some long grass to cover them up.
"No!" says the voice in my head. :stare:
"Just keep repainting them." :aha:

I think moving the fin might be an excellent idea. I currently like the way the neck curves down into the "shoulder" area and it'd be a shame to lose that line.

Edit: Just found a couple of good leg references so... study time! :)

I think it’s great, such an original combination! Though I think it should be called a “Fishymooraffe”

Finally got round to doing something for this.
It's only a line drawing atm but even this took me ages.
I spent at least 4 days trying to decide on which animals to use, then bugged my wife for two days asking for random animal ideas - "errrrrrrrr...what about a dog, an alligator and a bird?" "NO! Those are the wrong random animals!!"
So Ive just spent the better part of a day downloading loaaaaaaadsa reference and photobashing stuff together.

I give you my Spider Eyed Gorilla Crab! (with Rick hands, as he's the only person I know who shoots multiple images with the same lighting and outfit.)

:D I'm sure your wife thoroughly enjoyed being asked for random things only for them to not be the random things you wanted :P

Great start though - those spider eyes are already creeping me out!
