October 2018 challenge - Witches - WIPs

Any day except Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.

Hi all.
I've been working a little on this one for a few hours and finally got a layout im happy with.
For me witches are creatures of nature (and the corruption of nature) so I'm hoping to depict a forest hideaway where we have come upon a witch performing some sort of ritual preparation.
Just trying to get an idea of colour and basic lighting right now instead of going to town on a line drawing as I normally do.

Excellent "uplighting" on the figure, Atto.
Those little orange notes already imply the form of the body even where you haven't rendered it yet.
It's good to sometimes throw colours around like that to "sculpt" the image without the safety net of lines. But maybe I'm biased in saying that just because I don't do much of a line drawing either. (That first wip of mine is a shocking scrawl!)

And is that a pumpkin head I spy down at the bottom?

So this is just not working for me but it has been fun having a bit of a paint again. Thanks for the encouragement. If I had any ability before it seems to have abandoned me completely. I will post what there is so far but do not expect to see me in the finals thread.

I'm loving the different expressions, especially the middle one. There's a story being told just in the faces alone. And the glow from the bubbling cauldron really gives the image a satisfying punch that even makes it work as a thumbnail too.
Keep going right until the end!
