Well, my attempts are getting worse by the day. :P I think I peaked last week.

Anyway... I had a google for black and white photo refs and chose another one with a hand. Unfortunately my pen finally ran out mid-scribble so I had to finish off with smelly Sharpie. And if that wasn't bad enough the night-time photo is as blurry as hell.
Oh well...

I think it looks quite good, Valence. Just the arm being so straight down and skinny from the wrist keeps grabbing my attention.

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

It's official. Inktober has now ruined or run out all of my black biros.
So what's a guy to do?
Ah, I know. Use a blue biro and then desaturate the photo so that it looks like black ink! :P

Of course none of that colour cheating can help me with another badly proportioned face.

or just claim to use blue ink? I mean.... biros use ink...
I made a badly proportioned face of a woman with flowers in her hair, too, yesterday. I opted to not even post mine here :P

(It was from an aywas prompt and not very inky because I used pencil and crayon tools in artrage...)

Yes, they may be ink, but blue biro drawings look horrible to my eye, even when they're good ones! Or maybe that's just another of my irrational prejudices. :)

Oh no, don't post really good pics after all my dross. That's embarrassing.

And yes, it's an amazing drawing but that blue always just looks a little bit wrong to me. The saturation is a little too overpowering and the darkest tones don't quite have the punch of a black. It kind of reminds me of a photo that's faded in the sun.

Again, it's nothing to do with the skill shown or the quality of the work, just the medium. Some annoying part of my idiot brain just wants it to be black.
